Two Russian warplanes carried out a “simulated attack”, crossing close to the destroyer USS “Donald Cook”, which was located in international waters of the Baltic Sea – inform the American media. On board was a Polish helicopter.
The Associated Press, referring to one of the US officials, writes that the commander of the ship took action Russians dangerous. In his opinion, passage of two Su-24 was a violation of an agreement aimed at preventing dangerous incidents at sea, which was signed back in the 70′s.
According to sources, AP, Russian machines were not armed, but did not respond to taken by the the crew of the destroyer attempts to make contact by radio. On the other hand, as reported by CNN, the incident aboard the USS “Donald Cook” was a Polish helicopter that took part in a joint exercise with the Americans. In connection with the passage of Russian aircraft maneuvers interrupted.
