Great cyber attack on Poland. Attacked hundreds of banks – Czech Television

Customers over two hundred banks in Poland were attacked by malware GozNym – said IBM X-Force, a team of the world’s top specialists in cybersecurity.

Until now, there was no attack on this scale in Poland. The objective of the hackers was seventeen major commercial banks and 230 cooperative. Polish Banks Association and IBM, however, did not reveal the names of the affected banks.

GozNym, this Trojan and malicious software that was designed for attacks on Internet bank accounts. The new “malware” has been used to steal millions of dollars from the accounts of Canadian and US banks.

Today’s attack on the Polish banks, is the first action on this scale. In an age when everything moves to the Internet, electronic account banks are also at risk. It should minimize the risk of hack account – eg. through the use of methods of dual authorization of transactions through SMS or one-time code.
