Radio, a new bookstore in Muranow – Gazeta Wyborcza

Bookstores in Warsaw recently rather closed, not open, but Muranow just created anew. – And just because the old disappear, you have to open another. Here in front of it was once a bookshop. A lot of people come and very pleased that such a place again running – says Martyn, who works at the newly opened bookstore Street. Anders.

Place called Radio Television because in the 50s there was a shop appliances RTV. Trained eye to notice the facade of the building still traces quite attractive neon with the word “radio” with letters printed and “television” as if hand-written confident swing line. – Original we could not find it, but soon will hang almost identical play our neon – says Martyn.

The decor of the bookstore already refers to a bygone era. On the walls hang black-and-white photographs and Wladyslaw Famous cover of the magazine “Capital”, stands in the middle of an old CRT TV with an antenna and a wooden casing. On the back is a symbol of Warsaw Plant Television “Telz” that worked for such loss. Sit with coffee or tea are famous for 366 seats designed by Joseph Chierowskiego and look at the site smiling paper model of the Palace of Culture and the metal plate in the shape of the map of Warsaw. It is to serve the neighbors behind the billboard.

But the creators of the bookstore is not afraid of a niche beletrystki or literature for children. For them, the place was on the floor, where there are also meeting room. Here Foundation Public Space M20, which was established on the initiative of a bookshop and Warsaw will be able to meet and discuss.
