The politician died last night at his home in Wachtberg-Pech in western Germany.
Hans-Dietrich Genscher was in his political career, among others, director of the FDP (Freie Demokratische Partei), Minister of the Interior in the government of Social Democrats and Liberals (led by Willy-ego Brandt), Vice-Chancellor and Foreign Minister.
As head of the diplomacy involved in politics against the Soviet Union, 1989-1990, took guns in the process of socio-political changes in Europe and played a key role in the reunification of Germany.
in 1992, he resigned from the positions of Vice-Chancellor and Foreign Minister, and was elected honorary chairman of the FDP. He was active in political and social life.
