While organized at the headquarters of the Polish Television conference “United soccer on TV!” informed that TVP has purchased a big packet transmission of football for the years 2018 to 2022.
At the conference United football on TV CEO Jacek Kurski announced the purchase of rights to broadcast international matches for the years 2018 to 2022.
– yesterday UEFA eventually granted us a license for big packet transmissions from 2018 to 2022. In total, this 227 matches – said Jacek Kurski.
the package for the years 2018-2022 are:
- eliminations European Championship 2020 (matches Poles)
- European Championships in 2020 (as a whole)
- qualifying for the World Cup 2022 (matches Poles)
- 2 editions of the League of Nations UEFA that replaces Friendlies (seasons 2018/19 and 2020/21, matches Poles)
significant here is the fact that TVP during the qualifiers for the big events will only show matches Poles. This means that you do not see on TV matches of other teams (so qualifying for Euro 2016 showed Polsat and this is repeated at qualifying for the World Cup 2018 in Russia). Vladimir Szaranowicz – the director of TVP said that “the rights to show other teams will be available to buy on the market.”
Earlier Polish Television has secured the rights to broadcast:
- World Cup 2018 in Russia (in full)
- World Cup 2022 in Qatar (in full)
the package for the years 2018 to 2022, he also fought Polsat (having rights to Euro 2016 and the qualifiers for the World Cup in 2016), but was outbid by TVP. According to Super Express TVP gave a package of up to 320 million.
What is important – the president Jacek Kurski said that at present there is nothing to say about the package matches EURO 2016, which according to rumors were to be redeemed from Polsat. It seems that both television but not remarked TVP or simply waiting for the UEFA decision on the allocation of rights.
