A few hours before the arrival to the capital of Cuba, the US president, Cuban police violently detained opposition journalist – handed service RMF FM. Starting today visit Barack Obama in Havana is part of a plan to normalize relations between the United States and Cuba.
As reported service radio RMF FM, journalist Yuri Roca was arrested on his way to church. The man did not take the day participate in any action directed against the Cuban government. Roca was detained by the secret police, brutally overpowered and pushed into the car. At the moment there is no information as further unfolded fate of the journalist, and what were the reasons for the interception.
In Havana is now many journalists from around the world, in connection with starting today the visit of the American president.
Barack Obama arrives with his family this afternoon at the airport in Havana. Obama will be in Cuba until Wednesday, and plans to include a presidential visit meeting with the leader Raul Castro. Starting with Obama’s visit is part of his trip to Latin America, but also part of the plan to normalize relations between the two countries, which is entered from the previous year.
