Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski is visiting Belarus. Foreign Minister met with the Poles and with President Alexander Lukashenko. Yesterday Waszczykowski visited podmińskie uroczysko Kurapaty – a place of mass graves of victims of Stalin’s terror.
Earlier Witold Waszczykowski laid a wreath at the monument Eliza Orzeszkowej in Grodno.
The foreign minister stressed at a meeting with the Poles, the expanded network consulates and centers in may be issued a visa. In addition Waszczykowski stressed that Poland wants to cooperate economically with Belarus, because they see in it great potential for the Polish tourism.
Waszczykowski also met with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. The Belarusian leader expressed his satisfaction with the meeting and expressed his desire to continue the relationship. Foreign Minister revealed that the conversation concerned ia historical issues, which between Poles and Belarusians are the least disputed and border crossings that in the future could lead to local border traffic.
In addition, discussed the international situation in the region, as well as the possibility of ending the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
