Today, the Committee on Budgetary Control of the European Parliament (CONT) held a hearing of candidates for the European Court of Auditors. Candidate recommended by the Polish government is Janusz Wojciechowski MEP PiS.
Wojciechowski, 12 years is a MEP (Vice-President of the Committee on Agriculture), for 13 years he was a judge of the courts in Poland: from the district through district, appeal the Supreme Court. Finally, for 6 years he was the president of the Supreme Chamber of Control. – I would like to wish all the candidates as excellent preparation substantive – said Ryszard Czarnecki, Vice-President of the EP.
During a hearing in Brussels Polish candidate attacked MEP of Civic Platform – Julia Pitera and rose Thun. – MEP PO spilled over Polish affairs on the European and broke the iron rule of promoting Polish candidates for high positions in the EU. This attack was very well received, among others, the chairwoman of the committee – said Jadwiga Wisniewska, MEP PiS.

The European Court of Auditors responsible, among others for controlling the proper collection and use of EU funds and helps to improve the financial management community. The Court has no powers in law enforcement, but it works to improve the management of the EU budget by the European Commission and reports on EU finances.
