Russia withdraws from Syria – Satellite Republic

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russian troops reached the “vast majority” of those objectives, and gave the order to begin withdrawing their “main part”.

Vladimir Putin of his decision well informed at a special meeting Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Defense Sergei Shoigu. Withdrawing troops should take place tomorrow.

The Kremlin said that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, the main ally of Russia in the region has already been informed of the decision of Putin. Both presidents noted that the Russian operations have produced the desired effect and reversed the trend crisis.

– Syrian President drew attention to the professionalism, courage and heroism of the Russian soldiers who participated in military operations and expressed his deep gratitude to Russia for providing substantial assistance (…) Mr. al-Assad said he is ready to organize as soon as a political agreement in the country. Both presidents expressed their hope that the talks between government officials and representatives of the opposition under the aegis of the United Nations in Geneva will bring concrete results – we read on the website of the Russian president.

At the same time informed that the Russian base in Syria – Lighthouse in Tartus and air in province of Latakia will operate normally.
