Six days after he was hospitalized with a stroke, and died the President of Uzbekistan Islom Karimov. He was 78 years.
The funeral is to be held today. In Uzbekistan fears are born who will be his successor, because Karimov had no son. For now, the country will be supervised by the Prime Minister shavkat mirziyoyev, seen as a potential successor to the late President. The country has declared three days of mourning.
