Tim Wellens winner of the Tour de Pologne – Cable Republic

Briton Alex Dowsett of Movistar won a stage ending Tour de Pologne, which was the individual time trial. The results of the competition on the last day of the race did not significantly affect the general classification, in this wide margin Tim Wellens won the Lotto Soudal.

The dismal weather that decimated the peloton on the first Saturday’s fifth stage, and then caused the cancellation of the sixth, influenced the outcome of the greatest Polish cycling race. As a result, the general classification wins Belgian Tim Wellens, who in difficult conditions penultimate section coped best and generated over a four-minute advantage. The results of today’s individual driving could not find anything to change.

A race to the final stage, was played on the route Krakow-Wieliczka-Krakow (25 km) won with an excellent score 28.59 Alex Dowsett. The Briton was 22 seconds faster than the other Jonathan Castroverjo (Movistar) and 39 of the third Primoz Roglic (LottoNL-Jumbo). Wellens twisted 13 times over a minute and a half weaker than the winner, but it’s allowed him to win the race. The second in the general classification Fabio Felline (Trek-Segafredo), and the third, Alberto Battiol (Cannondale). The best Polish Pawel Cieslik took the 19th position. Michal Kwiatkowski, who suffered from the fifth stage finished only on 34th place. Classification sprinterską won Alberto Bettiol, and in the mountain and point triumphed Wellens.
