Merkel: Germany will not change its migration policy – Cable Republic

– The perpetrators of the attacks want to weaken our sense of community, our openness and readiness to help (…) strongly opposes – said Chancellor Angela Merkel, who today in Berlin commented on the recent attacks in Germany.

Due to the holiday, the German Chancellor did not show up on the site of the attacks, but today in the capital met with journalists and responded to harsh criticism open migration policy, strongly promoted by the government.

Merkel strongly rejected criticism of its opponents, in the context of the recent attacks.

The head of the German government stressed, however, that Germany will remain open to the needs of refugees, and help should get everyone who needs it. – I’m still convinced that “we can do it” – this is our historic duty in times of globalization – she added.

Yesterday, the German Chancellor spoke about the situation in Germany and Europe with the US President. Barack Obama has offered the German government to help in the investigation of the recent attacks.
