German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen told the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung” stated that he wants to open the Bundeswehr for refugees, and especially for the Syrians. As he noted, but they do not get weapons to hand, but will be trained in civilian professions.
The Minister said that the German department is currently working on a pilot project providing training hundred refugees in civilian professions – technical, medical and crafts. According to the plan the minister about it, that one day trained specialists able to return to Syria to help rebuild the country.
At the same time Von der Leyen has not ruled out the German in the training of the army in Syria, when the rise in the country’s internationally recognized government.
