The new head of the Institute of National Remembrance Jaroslaw Szarek said that if “there are new developments,” the Institute will resume the investigation into the massacre in Jedwabne.
Jaroslaw Szarek urged not to “do not limit the activities of the IPN to one topic.” – This is the work of a historian – there are new witnesses and issues that require consideration of the case from the beginning – he said. He added that if “there are new developments” in this case, the resumption of the investigation will be the “duty” of the Institute.
The new president of the Institute of National Remembrance announced that his goal is to “restore the Institute’s mission.” – Before us many other new research challenges – ended.
Yesterday, the Sejm appointed Dr. Jaroslaw Szarek new president of the Institute of National Remembrance. He succeeds in this position dr. Lukasz Kaminski. The candidature of Dr. Szarka voted 256 deputies, 166 were against and 13 abstained.
Dr Jaroslaw Szarek is a graduate of the Faculty of History at the Jagiellonian University. Currently, an employee of the Institute of National Remembrance in Krakow, where he is engaged in education. After martial law was involved in opposition activities, during which, among others, He was selling and printed underground newspapers. He is the author of many publications and books on contemporary Polish history.
