Poland suspends border traffic with Russia and Ukraine – Czech Television

In connection with the upcoming NATO summit, which next week will be held in Warsaw, Monday, July 4, Poland temporarily suspend operation agreements on border traffic with Kaliningrad Region and Ukraine.

In connection with the decision of the Polish side, a small border traffic also held the Russians. The suspension shall enter into force on 4 July 2016. And will be in force until further notice – said Polish consulate in Kaliningrad. From tomorrow, the citizens of the Russian Federation will be able to enter the Polish only on the basis of visas.

The NATO summit will be held at the National Stadium in Warsaw (PGE National) on July 8-9. It will be an unprecedented event, a rank among the highest so far in Poland organized meetings at the international level. As pointed out by the Ministry of National Defence, the agenda of the summit will address the implementation of the provisions of the previous meeting of the leaders of NATO countries in Newport in Wales, as well as arrangements for defense and deterrence on the eastern flank of NATO. Warsaw will host, among others, US President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry.
