Estonia: Russian-launched satellite – Onet.pl

The station consists of news, entertainment, documentaries, movies etc. Russian with Estonian translation. So far, Russians, representing about one-quarter of Estonia’s population of 1.3 million, were deprived of their channel and viewed the state-owned Russian television channels.

The program is broadcast 10 hours a day. The annual budget of the channel is approx. 4 million.

Estonian public television ERR no secret that the project is response to the Russian propaganda, which led to the fact that the Russians living in Estonia “often do not know what is happening in the country in which they live,” – said one of the heads of ERR Ainar Ruussaar.

AP writes that the launch Russian-language channel was a priority of the government in Tallinn after the annexation of the Crimea by Russia last year, accompanied by intensified propaganda campaign in the Russian media state.
