Pope Francis appealed to the faithful gathered at St. Peter’s Square during the “Angelus” by accepting refugee families, in preparation for the Year of Divine Mercy.
The Pope appealed to parishes, communities and sanctuaries for admission of one family. Support refugee has to be an example of the implementation of the Gospel and the preparation for the Jubilee of Mercy, which starts on December 8 and will last until November 2016 year.
Today is also the President of the Polish Episcopal Conference, Archbishop Stanislaw Gadecki appealed for assistance to refugees coming to Europe . As he said during a Mass in the Basilica of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Chelm, each parish should prepare a place for the persecuted “who come here expecting a helping hand and this brotherhood, which elsewhere are not.”
Bishop Henryk Tomasik in a conversation with a journalist of Radio Plus Radom stressed while special concern for persecuted Christians who, together with thousands of migrants flee their country. – Among the refugees are Christians and we Christians in Europe, we should especially help those who suffer for their faith. World too little is said about suffering for their faith, the persecution for their faith. Of course, we want to help everyone, but it would be good if we saw the plight of our brothers and sisters in the faith who suffer not only poverty, but are persecuted for their faith – emphasized the bishop Tomasik.
