Will Polish citizens was clear: one party gained an absolute majority for the first time in the recent history of the country – wrote in an article for the “Financial Times” the president Andrzej Duda.
The article entitled “Poland is still pro-European” was published on the website of the British “Financial Times” and was in the paper edition.
The President said that the past year was a time of political changes in Poland, and the Law and Justice party gained an absolute majority in parliament for the first time in the recent history of the country. Andrzej Duda added that therefore initiated a series of political and social reforms, which the Poles expected.
– According to the survey the majority of Poles had lost confidence in the justice system. They are dissatisfied with the current health care system and demand changes in education. They want a modernized army. They are overwhelmed with bureaucracy and Byzantine tax system, which makes starting a business and creating jobs is extremely difficult – wrote the president.
Andrzej Duda also drew attention to the mass emigration of Poles who go on job search. According to him, our country currently faces a “devastating brain drain” and must deal with it.
The president also stressed that although most economic indicators looked good, it is misleading, and many Poles has not led the benefits of economic transformation after the collapse of communism. He added that many conservative journalists were under surveillance, and the Poles had to struggle with corruption.
Andrzej Duda admitted that Poland held anti-government protests, but at the same time pointed out that this is part of democracy. – As in any well-functioning democracy, we believe that all participants have the right to open showing his displeasure – wrote.
The president assured that Poland is still a pro-European country, as well as wishes to maintain friendly relations with all its partners in Europe and especially Germany.
