No more wasting time – the public television much shorter … – Spider’s Web

National Council of Radio and Television has a seemingly good news. Duration of the advertising blocks cut from 12 to 4 minutes. Great news? Indeed, were it not for the other side of the coin: each of us pay for it out of pocket.

On the one hand, recent reports on the NBC has been very positive. The Council wants to reduce the progressive commercialization of public media, and therefore intends to significantly shorten the time of commercials in Polish television and radio. Every hour you will be able to issue only four minutes of advertising rather than 12, as before.

The fight against commercialization would be a noble idea, if not the fact that smaller advertising revenue we cover we, the taxpayers. The National Broadcasting Council has a plan in 2020 to get 2.7 billion zł to public media, of which the vast majority (more than 2 billion) trafiłoby to the Polish Television. The money is to be raised from the new tax.

So far, NBC charging a fee on account of RTV subscription for each receiver. Except that the collectability of the fee was low, especially among people who have never registered a receiver. This led to the fact that very few great concern to the head paying subscription.

NBC wants to move away from this system and gradually introduced a further proposals for changes in the system of fees. According to a new idea every taxpayer will be paying PIT and CIT, so everyone who works Pole, regardless of the type of contract. Individuals pay 8,33 zł per month (100 zł per year), the company zł 166.66 / month. (2000 zł per year), and organizations zł 33.32 / month. (approx. 400 zł per year).

The limitation of advertising time until about eight minutes it would certainly be sensible and highly desirable of change. Except that in my opinion the public media in general should not broadcast advertising.

Subject ads is extremely difficult not only for TV. I do not understand why paying sick money for a ticket to the movies I have seen before Star Wars 40 minutes (literally!) Ads. I wish it were even trailers of new movies. However, announcements of new films are in the minority, overwhelmed by vegetable oil, insurance and soft drinks. Can not get to me in the head.

Just like the public television, whose task is to “pursue public mission” is able to persuade older people to thieving insurance, the sick proposes getting stronger drugs, and children are taught ads toys. I know that to make a living need, and TV probably does not have as much impact on the content of the ad, as she wanted … After all, I feel like the joke about a thief – “disgust remained.”

On the one hand, NBC It plans to reduce the duration of the ad, which after all is an advantage. On the other hand, goes deeper into our pockets, replacing radio-television license tax. In sum, for the public media do not pay your time, but your money.

I do not like and do not want to move political themes in the pages of Spider’s Web, but for the actions of the NBC otherwise simply can not. Excuse me. I do not believe in the mission of public media. Not in my generation of people living on the Internet. Not at a time when it is courteous to boast of not having a TV.

More and more I am inclined to believe that TVP is a creature completely politicized, which (to put it bluntly) to be simply a tube propaganda of the ruling political option. But why do we pay for it?
