The present is the result of the past, and all actions have consequences – argue the creators television series “The Pact”. The premiere next Sunday November 8 pm. 20.10 on HBO.

The six-part thriller directed by Mark Lechki takes place in contemporary Poland. We must add, however, that talks about the consequences of decisions and events from many years ago. There have been times of political transformation in the late 80s, when the pressure of life and change was so great that not everyone was able to meet him.

– For tacit consent, inertia , lack of determination, courage, my character has become an accomplice to a cruel crime. I carry it in you like a thorn – talked about Daniel, that is, her character, Jacek Monday. – Daniel, a man of principle, a believer, the son of PRL-owski officer on the one hand, and a believing mother, inspired even mysticism. Adheres to the principle of the Decalogue. But he happened to make a mistake.

Daniel, chief financial officer of a large corporation, a leading a happy family life with his wife leading gallery (Magdalena Cielecka), is the father of an adolescent son. In this family, as it later turns out, there are a lot of secrets, silence areas which came as a result of the tragic events. When business decisions around Daniel began to grow doubt, the investigation in this case began CBS, and the case went to the columns widely read newspaper. I then started an avalanche of events. It is worth noting that this journalistic investigation leads brother Daniel – Peter (Martin Dorociński), and he tries to unravel the mystery and towering spiral unexpected, as the tragic events.

The series takes place in six days, during Holy Week, preceding centuries Holy Night. It’s a special time, not only reflection but also transformation, awakening, re-evaluation of past life. At the beginning of each section there are biblical quotes, because the creators wanted to match the content sections, created a story form a coherent whole. It is also a biblical parable about sacrifice, sacrifice, morality … The motto of the first section is an excerpt from the Apocalypse. John: “Who the absent entered in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire”, and the second – a quotation from the Book of the Prophet Isaiah: “In this day they hear deaf words of the book, and the eyes of the blind will review, liberated from the shadows and darkness.”

In the case of this series it is thus something more than just a sensational story, also reflect the viewer. And after watching the first two episodes I confess: I can not wait for another.
