Romania: State TV calls for the withdrawal of the secret … – wPolityce.pl

The head of the Romanian TV public letter published today demanded the withdrawal of the facility secret agents of the intelligence services of Romania. In a country from the storm lasts a few days after the intelligence chief had already acknowledged that the media has placed its officers.

George Maior said a few days ago in an interview with a private TV station B1 TV , the Romanian internal intelligence ( RSI ) are the agents who officially work in the media as journalists.

It is common practice, “as in other democratic countries”

-przekonywał Maior. This kind of officers are in his view, “a powerful weapon of each interview.”

This statement was in Romania with a wave of indignation and opposition. In today published a letter to the RSI Romanian head of state television TVR Stelian Tanase demanded withdrawal of intelligence agents from his company; stressed that it must “remain independent.”

Maior on Tuesday resigned after 10 years of working in this position in response to the rejection of the Constitutional Court concerning state security laws. They allowed the collection by various state institutions of data on citizens without having to prove in court that the person is a danger to the state. The Court held that the Act is unconstitutional and violate human rights.

Before serving in his resignation Maior criticized the Court, arguing that the laws are necessary for national security and protection of citizens. We do not know who will replace Maiora as head of intelligence; decision in this matter will take at the request of the President of the Parliament.
