Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a new military doctrine, which assumes that the greatest external threat to the state is the expansion of NATO and the destabilization of certain territories. The document also draws attention to the threat of terrorism.
The signing of the doctrine announced on the official website of the Kremlin. It was noted that the adjustments in the current doctrine were necessary due to the “changing nature of threats.”
It was also noted that the document is a response to the changing situation in Ukraine and around it, as well as in North Africa , Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. It was emphasized that one of the main external threats becomes “the expansion of NATO’s military potential near the border with Russia.”
The document signed by Putin expects to maintain mobilization readiness of the armed forces, as well as nieatomowego deterrence capabilities, which will be based on “a high level of readiness of general purpose forces.” Thanks Moscow has to be able to prevent and deal with armed conflict.
