Wales reports in the quarterfinals – Czech Television

The second match of 1/8 final between Wales and Northern Ireland, was the exact opposite of the spectacle we’ve had the pleasure to enjoy a few moments earlier. Finally, after 90 minutes of fighting, at the Parc de Princes triumphed Welsh.

The meeting between Wales and Northern Ireland will join the ranks of the most boring meetings of this year’s Championship of the Old Continent. Both teams had a problem with the creation of dicey situations and fans gathered at the Parc de Princes mainly watched the fight in the central zone of the pitch.

The beginning of the meeting suddenly belonged to the Irish people from the North. In the 11th minute a good opportunity wasted Stuart Dallas. After a quarter of an hour awakened charges Chris Coleman. In the 19th minute put the ball in the goal Aaron Ramsey, but the ref rightly whistled offside.

In general, the first 45 minutes did not enthuse. Irish defensive line completely excluded from the game Gareth Bale. Welshman was in a similar situation, as Robert Lewandowski from two weeks ago, but fared much worse in the ruthless struggle with the Irish defensorami than our compatriot. Unexpectedly, more shots distance charges Michael O’Neill. Welsh because not a single strike towards goal McGovern.

After the break the course of the match has not changed significantly. Welsh had the best situations on the set pieces. In 56 minutes Bale checked the alertness McGovern, but the Irish goalkeeper made a successful intervention. Only in the 75th minute Wales took the lead after the own goal Gareth McAuley. By the end of the match result has not changed and Wales has become the second quarter-finalists of this year’s European Championship. In the 1/4 final will face the winner of tomorrow’s clash between Belgium and Hungary.
