“Lumen TV Zambia” – because it will be called the first Catholic TV this African country – will begin broadcasting before the end of this year. TV will reach all citizens of Zambia. this is another step in the use of the media for the purpose of evangelization. The project radio has proven to be a hit.
Zambijscy bishops of the means of social communication for evangelization said since 1994. First able to run the country numerous radio stations. They proved to be the most effective relay the Gospel message and the instrument of formation of the faithful.
Catholic Television to be the next step. As noted, the rich Zambian society, almost every home has a TV, a channel that already use for their environmental objectives Protestant, fundamentalist and hostile to the Church. It often happens that the community founded by local preachers are successful only because of the presence of the TV. This happens at the expense of Catholics. Catholic TV complement this gap, satisfying the “spiritual hunger” of the faithful.
The network schedule “Lumen TV Zambia ‘will religious programs, information and education. As noted by the secretary of the local episcopate, “the opening of Catholic television with national coverage will be the first step to find new areas and ways of carrying out the mission of the Church: to proclaim the Gospel to every creature.”
