Vilnius: Run the memory in honor Soldiers accursed – Cable Republic

Freedom and Democracy Foundation has organized street racing devoted to the memory of soldiers of the anti-communist uprising. In many Polish cities, participants took part in the races, “track of the Wolf.” O “Soldiers accursed” remember the Poles in Vilnius.

Organizers estimated that racing were held in over 140 cities – not only in Poland but also abroad. Among pay homage to the heroic soldiers were also Poles from Vilnius region, who prepared his edition of the race “track of the Wolf.” Despite the wintry weather, the competition was attended by over 200 participants.

At the start, all gathered asked Deputy Ambassador of the Polish Republic in Vilnius – Maria Ślebioda, which recalled the heroic deeds of soldiers accursed and expressed joy at the fact that Constant honor can be folded taking part in Vilnius edition of the race.

the participants competed over a distance of 5 km, and 1,963 meters. The shorter the distance was not accidental and is linked to the date of the death of Joseph Franczak “Doll,” which was the last soldier of the creation of the anti-communist Poland, was murdered just in 1963.

Start the running for a symbolic distance of 1,963 meters gave the president of the Association Polish Combatants in Lithuania, Lieutenant Edward Klonowski ps. “Cuhalt”.

The organizers have identified the largest organized group of runners – the Secondary School. Simon Konarski in Vilnius. The group led by the deputy director of the school, signed up 57 people.
