Premier Beata Szydło twice met with David Cameron on the occasion of the EU summit. In Brussels, all the time, negotiations on the conditions for the further stay of Great Britain in the European Union. The talks include demand reduction of benefits.
The first meeting of the head of government of the Prime Minister of Great Britain took place before the start of official talks. Poland has objections to the proposal, according to which will be limited allowances for children and will be introduced so-called. emergency brake, which in exceptional circumstances would reduce benefits for new migrants.
Benefits for children under negotiation
In the afternoon, the deputy foreign minister Konrad Szymanski met with journalists and said that the negotiations still under way, but still “not closed issue” are benefits to living in Poland, children whose parents work in another Member State.
The draft agreement, which has been proposed seeks to reduce emissions of EU immigrants paid benefits for children who have been in their homeland. According to the proposed mechanism allows for the indexing of benefits to living standards in the country of residence of the child.

If such a solution is adopted, then this would require changes to the EU Regulation. In this case, the indexing of benefits could also benefit other countries. It is estimated that across the EU paid out approximately 100 thousand benefits to parents of children living in Poland.

Our aim is to obtain the guarantees under the amendment to the regulation. This is the reason why today everything is delayed. It is difficult to say when and if today we finish the negotiations – said Szymanski.
After negotiations should begin with an informal dinner of EU leaders, which will be discussed in the final shape of the agreement, but still moved the time of its inception. After that will be the official plenary session of the EU.
