The yacht sank near Swinoujscie. Poles rushed to help – Television Republic

The Polish unit set off to rescue 12 people whose boat sank approx. 40 km from Swinoujscie. One person died. The rest of the survivors managed to save.

On Saturday evening about 40 km northwest of Swinoujscie sank a boat with 12 people on board. Operating Inspector Wieslaw Jasinski of Maritime Search and Rescue Service reported that the signal of the sinking of Polish yacht arrived from the United States, and later was confirmed also by the German ministry.

– It turned out that over 20 miles (offshore ; approx. 40 km – Ed.) northwest of Swinoujscie yacht sank Bermuda-Antigua flag. It is a chartered yacht, which is owned by a Pole. On board were 12 people. These 12 people rescued passing near a small German boat. For our part, we sent a ship to the region sar 3000 Passat, which took all the survivors from a fishing boat. Unfortunately, one of the survivors is dead – said Insp. Jasinski in an interview with TVN24.

According to Mirosława Więckowska, a spokesman for the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre in Gdynia unit, which sank a 23-foot schooner “Down North”.

The German fishermen asked for help so in their direction directed rescue ship.

The crew of the schooner had already reached Swinoujscie. Survivors are in good condition.
