German police have arrested a Syrian suspect in … – cable Republic

After 2 days of chase, the German police arrested a Syrian national suspected of planning attacks explosions in Chemnitz.

Jaber al-Bakr, who arrived in Germany as a refugee, he was detained in an apartment in the Eastern city of Leipzig on Monday. Sought refuge and another Syrian, who reported to the police and detained the suspect.

the search for the men began after police found in his apartment with explosives, a detonator and a kilogram of chemicals. Apparently the substance was TATP, a home-made explosive used in the attacks by jihadists in Paris and Brussels. The German authorities feared terrorist attack at the airport in Berlin.

At 00:42 on Monday, police broke into the apartment in Leipzig and found al-Bakr is already associated.

Jaber al-Bakr arrived in Germany in February 2015 where he was granted political asylum in November. He was associated with the so-called Islamic State.
