Serious corruption allegations against the prime minister of Romania – Television Republic

DNA Romanian anti-corruption agency began an investigation into the fraud of the current Prime Minister Victor Ponta.

Premier leftist government of Romania is suspected, among others, of perjury, money laundering and numerous tax fraud.

The case concerns the years 2007-2008 when Ponta worked as a lawyer. Falsified were to be, among other things invoices for the purchase of two luxury apartments and a car Mitsubishi Lancer .

The current President of Romania Klaus Iohannis said that the whole situation is unacceptable, and Ponta called for the resignation. The center-right president without the consent of the parliament (where the majority are social democrats) because he can not dismiss the prime minister.

Victor Ponta denies the allegations posed to him. It is believed that he is innocent and stresses that it can only recall the Romanian Parliament.

In recent months, the DNA has already arrested several well-known figures from the world of politics. For accepting bribes last year to four years in prison, among others, the Supreme Court sentenced former Romanian Prime Minister Adrian Nastase. He was a past leader of the Romanian Social Democrats and mentor Victor Ponty.
