Broadcasters pledged that from 1 January 2015. broadcasts directed to children under the age of 12 will not be accompanied by advertising of food and beverages that do not meet nutritional Criteria contained in the document, prepared at the request of the Polish Federation of Food Industry and approved by the Ministry of Health, which is annexed to the Agreement broadcasters.

This annex also stated, inter alia, product categories which are not included in the Criteria habits, because their advertising at children’s broadcasts will not be permitted. These include sugar and sugar-based products including: chocolate and chocolate products, jam or marmalade, nieczekoladowe sweets and other sugar products, soft drinks, potato chips and potato-based snacks, as well as products made of dough. The sender signed the agreement pledged that children’s programs are not accompanied by advertisements for these products.

Broadcasters since the beginning of December this year, will require advertisers to submit a written declaration of conformity of the product or indicate sponsorship of nutritional criteria.

The tasks of the National Broadcasting Council should initiate and support self-regulation

 in the provision of media services. The agreement is a response to broadcasters raised repeatedly by NBC need to provide effective, special protection of children against harmful content for them commercial communications that may adversely affect their proper physical, mental or moral development. The agreement is the result of the work of the very active participation of the National Broadcasting Council and the Advertising Council and the Polish Federation of Food Industry and the Ministry of Health and aimed at drastically reducing the so-called advertising. unhealthy foods to children. The agreement between broadcasters is voluntary. Broadcasters also committed themselves, inter alia, to designate representatives authorized to execute the agreement.

In a case where the need to verify the conformity of the products advertised

At the same time the National Council of Radio and Television under the existing rules will conduct monitoring systems in the statutory obligation arising from control of broadcasters from implementing the provisions contained in Art. Ust3a 16b of the Law on Broadcasting.
