HSBC bank customer lists, who helped his wealthy clients avoid paying taxes by Mariusz Walter, co-TVN – tells “Gazeta Wyborcza”.
As it turned out at the beginning of February, the global bank HSBC helped his wealthy clients in evasion of taxes on money deposited in accounts in Switzerland. Moreover, we found that among these customers were the 512 people involved in Polish, which Polish treasury lost 865.6 million.
The list of customers won the French “Le Monde” and gave them to the International Consortium of Journalists investigators. As media reports said the only Polish journalist, who is a member of this organization is Paul Smolenski of “Gazeta Wyborcza”. Initially, the newspaper decided not to disclose any of the names.
Today, on the economic side “GW”, there is information that customer lists are also those publicly known. One of them is Mariusz Walter, co-founder of TVN.
In the 2006-07 to the company associated with the account deposited a total of $ 2.1 million. Access to it also had Bruno Valsangiacomo, “shareholder and founder of” ITI Group, and Romano Fanconi, secretary holding – writes election.
Walter asked for what purpose he decided to set up an account in the bank, he said that he personally was not a client of HSBC. He explained that the bill, by which bears his name, was opened in November 2005. For companies registered in Cyprus Linipalin, and this, in turn, was a subsidiary of MAWA Holding company registered in Curacao. It is through these two companies in tax havens Walter controlled account in HSBC.
“Election” writes that were brought to Linipalin first ITI shares, which in 2004. Shares are listed on TVN, while in summer 2005. Linipalin TVN shares sold under the share buyback conducted by the broadcaster. Linipalin thus received the money.
– In order to promote the safety of funds deposited in bank accounts through the diversification of banks (…) it was decided to open a bank account for Linipalin in the Swiss branch of HSBC, one of the the largest and most reliable banks in the world. It was the only criterion for the selection of the bank for the opening of a bank account by Björn Linipalin in an interview with “GW” creator TVN. Walter adds that all transactions in shares of TVN Linipalin reported “relevant actors and institutions in the implementation of obligations under the applicable law.”
