For at least 54 the number of people who died as a result of the sinking of a fishing boat on the Sea of Okhotsk coast of Kamchatka, Russia to the east – reported service directing rescue operation. Fifteen people considered to be missing.
The previous balance, given by emergency services, followed by the Russian Ministry. Emergencies, said at least 43 dead and 26 missing. On board the freezer trawler were 132 people, including 78 Russian citizens and 54 foreigners, including Burmese, Ukrainians, Lithuanians and residents of Vanuatu.
Rescuers pulled 63 people from the water, the temperature of which was approx. 0 degrees Celsius. The survivors were transported to hospitals helicopters in Magadan.
The trawler sank in the Sea of Okhotsk, approx. 330 km west of the village Krutogorowski circuit Kamchatsky and approx. 250 km south of Magadan. Cause of the accident is not yet known; by Tass the trawler was not sent an SOS signal. Port of registry unit belonging to Magellan LLC is Nevelsk in Sakhalin.
