Violent riots in Baltimore after the funeral of an African-American … – Television Republic

At least 15 policemen were injured and two were taken to hospital as a result of the riots that took place in Baltimore after the funeral of 25-year-old black man who died after his arrest.

The city has been declared a curfew, which is effective from h. 22 to 5 in the morning for a week, and in the state of Maryland introduced a state of emergency. Governor of Maryland called the National Guard, which is soon to enter the city.

The riots began in the late afternoon in the north-western district of Mondawmin from Baltimore, where the funeral was held Freddie Grey.

The enraged crowd, who blames the police for the death of a man in the officers threw bottles, stones and cegłówkami.

Although the Grey family earlier appealed to the nature of the protest was peaceful, not listened to her. There was even clashes between warring with each other gangs, arson and looting shops cars. Officers stopped approx. 27 people.

Freddie Gray died a week after he was arrested on April 12 by the police. After his arrest, he was placed in a police van, where he suffered a spinal cord injury. A week after the arrest, died in the hospital.
