South Korean TV aired the message of the Holy Father, in which Francis announces their arrival and explains the importance of starting on Thursday, August 14 his visit to the country.

The Holy Father recalled that Korean Catholics are the heirs of generations of martyrs who gave their lives for Christian faith. Thanked now for the kind and hospitable welcome and encouraged to pray that his apostolic visit has produced good fruit for the Church and the Korean society. He recalled that arrives in conjunction with the Sixth Asian Youth Day, but also to August 16 martyrs beatified in Seoul – Paul Yun Ji-Chung and 123 companions.

Speaking of young people, Pope remarked that it brings hope and energy for the future, but is also a victim of moral and spiritual crisis of our time. “That’s why I want them all to proclaim the only name in which they can be saved: Jesus Christ” – said Francis.

The Pope recalled that the Christian faith is deeply rooted in Korean society and brought abundant fruit. Guardians of this heritage are the elderly, young and without them would be deprived of memory. “The meeting between the older and younger people is a guarantee of the road people. Church, however, is a big family, in which we are all brothers in Christ. In His name I come to you, enjoying the opportunity to share with you the Gospel of love and hope” – said the Koreans in the message of the Holy Father television.
