Zika virus already in Poland – Czech Television

Studies have been done in a laboratory at the University of Warsaw confirmed the presence of the virus Zika of two people who returned from the Dominican Republic and Colombia. Thus dangerous virus wandered to us.
 
                 

– According to our knowledge the first cases of infection Zika in Poland – says Dr. Renata Welc-Falęciak, biotechnologist with AmerLabu laboratory acting on Warsaw University for the BBC.

Zika virus moving tropical mosquitoes Aedes. It occurs in the regions of Central and South America, Southeast Asia and on the islands s Pacific. In the US and Europe recorded several cases in people returning from areas with increased risk of infection.

What are the symptoms? Those infected have fever, headache, muscle or joint pain, conjunctivitis, rash, maculopapular photophobia or

paralysis, but in many cases the disease is asymptomatic. The virus remains in the body for about a week. NOTE! Zika virus is very dangerous for pregnant women. Most likely causes birth defects in children in the form of microcephaly (microcephaly) and neurological symptoms in the form of paralysis. There are preventive medications to protect against infection.
