This is not a new idea Hastings. A year ago, Netflix CEO published 11-page document, in which he outlined his predictions about how they will evolve TV stations.
In his Monday speech, Hastings presented a similar view. According to him, media budgets from year to year will be more modest when it comes to traditional television. Advertisements move to the Web, and as we know, television can not live without ads. Hastings also criticized the methodology of TV ratings – according to him, the mechanism is unfair to many production, for which many of them disappear from the antenna before it reaches a spectacular success.
